Sharon Meers is a technology executive and served most recently as head of Strategic Partnerships at eBay Enterprise. Previously, she was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs.
In her four years at eBay, Sharon led business development and sales for two ecommerce software acquisitions, driving 50% annual revenue growth and, in 2015, helping the business spin off from eBay as a separate company.
In her 16 years at Goldman Sachs, Sharon held several leadership positions. After joining the firm in New York in 1988, Sharon worked on strategic advisory and restructuring engagements for financial institutions. In 1996, Sharon moved to San Francisco to build Goldman’s equity derivative business on the West Coast. In 1999, she opened a private banking office in Menlo Park to expand the fast-growing Silicon Valley business. From 2002-2004, Sharon ran the national product management team in Goldman Sachs Asset Management focused on the private banking business, and in 2005 she moved to equity research in San Francisco.
Sharon is also co-author of Getting to 50/50, a book about women and leadership. The book launched on the Today show in 2009 and has been featured in many publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Fortune. In 2013, Getting to 50/50 was released in paperback with a forward by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, author of Lean In. Sharon serves on the board of LeanIn.Org.
Sharon holds an BA in History from Harvard College and an MA in Economics from New York University. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two children.
