Avery Lu

Avery has 21 years of experience in Silicon Valley's high tech/semiconductor industries.

Avery is currently Vice President of Business Development at Focus PDM, a firm focused on providing best-in-class product design services across the full product lifecycle to enable all innovators, from entrepreneurs to business teams, to create game-changing products. He is also Co-Founder & Chief Marketing Officer at Palo Alto Scientific, Inc., a sports science analytics and wearable tech company focused on “Bringing Sports Science to Everyone” leveraging wearable technology, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. Avery is a startup advisor/mentor to technology startups at local startup accelerators like Wearable IoT World, Highway1, Hanhai Investment Inc., TechCode Accelerator U.S., Taiwan Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), and Santa Clara University Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE); an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at F50; a San Francisco Advisory Board Member at C-Suite Network; and has organized large industry symposiums, keynoted at various global conferences, and been interviewed and quoted in multiple market research reports on IoT and wearables.

Avery has 21 years of experience in Silicon Valley’s high tech/semiconductor industries in various roles including business development, segment marketing, product marketing, global account management, and field applications engineering for companies like NXP, Infineon, and Toshiba, where he was responsible for a wide range of technologies addressing such vertical markets as mobile, tablet, consumer electronics, computing, industrial, telecom, utility, automotive, medical, and military.

Avery serves on the Board of Directors of CASPA (Chinese American Semiconductor Professional Association) and is currently Executive Director of Business Development and Entrepreneurship. He is also the Chair of the IEEE Consumer Electronics Society chapter in Silicon Valley. Additionally, Avery serves on the Board of Directors of the Santa Clara University Alumni Association Board, as an Advisory Board Member at UCSC Extension Silicon Valley Embedded Systems & VLSI Engineering Program, and as a STEM Technical Advisor/Robotics Instructor at various Silicon Valley afterschool programs.

He holds a B.S. Electrical Engineering degree from Santa Clara University and Marketing Management Certificate from University of California, Santa Cruz.
