Some of our own girls with toys

By now you’ve probably seen the fantastic array of photos on Twitter hashtagged #girlswithtoys, a celebration of women in STEM — and if you haven’t, go look! We wanted to give a shoutout to our own female founders and their teams, too:

Like Moxxly’s Gabrielle Guthrie, who just put up a great piece on KQED Science’s Future of You blog, pictured here with co-founder Santhi Analytis. Or Sara Chipps, whose company Jewelbots just launched their Quire campaign.

Transformair was a top-ten finalist at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Innovation Showcase; co-founder Jaya Rao was the first Founder Friday of her class.

Speaking of girls with toys — literally — Lumo (led by Meg Athavale) just hit their crowdfunding goal on Indiegogo and will be turning your floor into lava soon! You can still get in on the campaign if you hurry.

Christina Mercando, one of Highway1’s very first graduates, has been making news all over the place with Ringly — even on Fox.

Switch Embassy won the Innovation Award over at Frankfurt’s Techtextil conference at the beginning of the month, too.

Other current and past female Highway1 founders have included Dr. Pamela Jennings of Construkts, Raji Kannan of LensBricks, and Karen Kaushansky, new head of user experience at Cinder.

We’re looking forward to having more; don’t forget to apply soon!
