Prototyper of the Week

RecoverX Narrows It Down

Every week, we recognize the Highway1 team that was most active in the lab with the prestigious Prototyper of the Week award.

This week’s winner is once again RecoverX, who A/B tested their final two designs with a group of sixteen subjects. In the words of CTO Dan Evans, “We’re ramping up for our functional prototype in a couple of weeks, so we needed to build one more round of dummies to give us a better idea of what to create when the time comes. The neoprene fabric is there for comfort, and the wood forms have a similar weight to our actual product; it’s the same look and feel that our functional prototype will offer. Alex conducted most of the interviews while Dave and I were writing notes, watching how people put the unit on, and taking pictures. We were surprised at how mixed the feedback was, actually — neither option won initially. We had to go into the response set and break it down between the casual users and the more dedicated, who’d be more likely to be potential buyers. By further analyzing the results, we landed on the answer we were looking for.”
