Prototyper of the Week

OpenBike Assembles and Tests their PCB

Every week, we recognize the Highway1 team that was most active in the lab with the prestigious Prototyper of the Week award.

This week’s winner is OpenBike. Here to tell us about what they were busy on in the lab is ObenBike CTO Kyle Manna:

“We hand-assembled two PCBs this week to verify our board design. I identified a few issues and resolved them, which required hacking some new components onto the board. After we finish this round of prototyping, we’ll send the board to a vendor to professionally manufacture multiples; the components I hacked on this time will be integrated directly into the board then. It’s important to do the testing and validate the design of the board before we send it to be professionally manufactured — otherwise we’ll spend a lot of money for boards that don’t work.”
